Amy Dover
Amy Dover is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, born and raised in North Carolina but settling in Alabama with her family in 2011. Amy attended Barton College in North Carolina for her undergraduate degree and Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale for her graduate; she has been working in the field of therapy since 2003. Amy has served children, adolescents, families, and couples with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, childhood disorders, sex offender treatment, and relationship issues while living in several states, including North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Alabama. Before opening her own private practice, Amy worked in several therapeutic settings to include residential treatment, a group home, and in-home/school counseling. Amy often says that being a therapist is a sacred privilege, in that she has the honor of walking with people on their journey from hurt and pain to a place of healing and wholeness, and she is humbled by the trust and confidence clients have in her and in her ability to help them.
Amy is married to Dr. Jim Dover, a US Army veteran, and they have two teenage sons. Amy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and weight lifting.
