Cheryl Gomez
Cheryl Gomez, LICSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate, client-centered therapy for individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional distress. Cheryl takes a holistic, strengths-based approach to counseling and believes deeply in each person’s right to self-determination.
Cheryl draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), thoughtfully tailoring treatment to meet each client’s unique needs and experiences. She has experience working with trauma and trauma-related symptoms, helping clients build safety, increase self-awareness, and develop effective coping skills while moving toward the values and goals that matter most to them. Her approach supports healing across mental, emotional, and overall well-being.
For clients who desire it, Cheryl intentionally integrates Christian faith and values into the therapeutic process, offering a space where evidence-based therapy and spiritual beliefs can coexist with care and respect. Faith integration is always client-led and guided by the client’s preferences.
Cheryl received her Master of Social Work from Baylor University in 2020 and began her professional career in education before transitioning into social work, a background that continues to shape her relational, supportive, and developmentally informed approach. As a member of a military family, she brings understanding and sensitivity to the unique stressors related to military life, transitions, and family dynamics.
Outside of the therapy room, Cheryl has been married for 22 years, is a parent to three children, and is the owner of one “bad” dog and one equally “bad” cat. Originally from California, she values authenticity, connection, and walking alongside clients as they pursue healing, growth, and meaningful change.
