Amelia Hinson, ALC is an Associate Licensed Counselor in Alabama under the supervision of Stefanie Archie, LPC-S, who is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, connection, and support. Grounded in the belief that people thrive through meaningful relationships and community, Amelia provides counseling services that honor the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and lived experience.

Amelia earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University. She brings over 10 years of professional experience across aging and disability services, higher education, and crisis management. Throughout her career, Amelia has provided case management and counseling services to individuals of all ages in residential, in-home, and community-based settings.

Rooted in a humanistic counseling framework, Amelia believes that every person has the capacity for growth when met with empathy, understanding, and self-awareness. She integrates this philosophy with evidence-based therapy approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Culturally Sensitive Therapy. When requested, Amelia is honored to incorporate a client’s faith or spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process in a respectful, supportive, and client-centered manner.

Amelia works with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families, to address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, body image and disordered eating, grief and loss, trauma, divorce, and life transitions. She values a collaborative and affirming therapeutic relationship and strives to create a safe, growth-oriented space where clients feel empowered to heal, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

A native of the Wiregrass area, Amelia enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, writing, and being with her husband, bonus son, and their adopted Golden/Aussie mix, Ollie.
